Project Description

We have produced a Mobile-First Destination Tourism POC which motivates visitors to engage with a destination, utilising the app to plan and experience local POIs during their stay.

In the background, the Content Management System (CMS) engine houses the POI data including i-Beacon GIS referential data.

User engagement with the Mobile App at a POI level provides for analytics delivering statistics around user interaction with the app and local points of interest (extensible to capturing demographics, length of visit / stay; tourist spend and other desired variables)

Data Story

HackVision's data story takes a beginning-to-end approach to the tourism experience. DestinationTourism is a rich solution starting with the prospective visitor's journey idea; guiding them to their destination; planning their POI experiences; utilising transport data to navigate between experiences dependent upon their lifestyle choices and preferred mode of transport through to engaging with the POI itself.

At the POI, location data is leveraged using i-Beacon technology which may be extended to capture metrics around visitation, length of stay, spend and so on.
